Yesterday I:
Pulled frozen blueberries and peaches (no, I didn't freeze them myself, the grocery store is handy that way) out of my freezer and whipped up peach-blueberry muffins. I used the last scoop of flour and dregs of baking powder. They were (still are, actually) fabulous! Not too sweet, and is there anything better than the flavor of peaches in the middle of January?
Made the date-changes for my second online class, which can not be done in one fell swoop, but instead must be done manually for every assignment. I had to wonder aloud (to my friend E who had come over to join me in prepping) why it was so hard to keep a date in my head as I turned my head from the paper it was written on to the software calendar on my computer where I needed to click the correct buttons. It's unfathomable.
Spent enjoyable time discussing the world's problems with E --one of my favorite things about her is she's always more informed than I am on all things political and historical, so I always learn something from our discussions.
Had a nice couch snuggle with Emma, while we perused a jewelry blogger's earring posts and critically examined each pair for what we liked and what we didn't.
Looked out back in the twilight at a snowman taller than me, put together by Emma and K in freshly falling snow that drew them to play outside like a magnet. It's always a good thing to have extra snow gear on hand for friends.
Ate one slice too many of a delicious pizza while watching an episode of Bones.
We here are big fans of peaches in January. My husband's January birthday is always celebrated with something peachy.
ReplyDeleteMmmm! I've never tried blueberry and peach in one muffin. Sounds delicious! This post is just full of wonderful winter coziness.
ReplyDeleteIt's an amazing winter for snowmen--so many good ones by us, too.
ReplyDeletePEach and blueberry muffins? That sounds so good.
Here's hoping your productive day will incite a need to be productive in me.
ReplyDeleteAnd now I want muffins. And pizza.
It sounds like you had a perfect day. I spent HOURS shopping online for beads over the weekend... and dreaming up projects.
ReplyDeletePeach-blueberry muffins = August sunshine in the form of comfort food (I mean that in a really good way)!
